My tasks have evolved. I have lost “New Guy” status to another intern. Gears are turning. A storm is brewing. Coffee is brewing. Harvey has grown a second head. Just joking on that last one. Sort of.

The third act is in motion for Dislecksia: The Movie. Earlier today, we began strategizing fund raising efforts to complete the remainder of the film, with our sights setting on Kickstarter as a possible start. For those unfamiliar, Kickstarter is an online fundraising site developed for individuals to raise money for their prospective cause. Its popularity has spread massively since its inception in 2009. We at Captured Time will soon be looking to establish our own cause for Dislecksia, and a financial goal of $15,000. You will surely hear about this in the coming weeks.

Rough editing on the film continued as well. While sifting through chapters, Paul and myself find laughs from Billy Bob Thornton as he explains his initial reason for joining drama club: escape math class because of his dyslexia—and get chicks. Harvey is quick to point out: “New Guy just laughed at that. See? That’s good stuff.” There’s rarely a dull moment here. With every session that I sit in on with Harvey and Aimee while they rough edit the film, I am continuously intrigued by the size of the dyslexic community. Actors Billy Bob Thornton and Sarah Joy Brown note that not only actors, but lawyers, doctors, and politicians are among them with regard to their learning difference—and how their learning differences allowed them to excel in their respective fields.

Continuing with what Paul wrote yesterday, Harvey and Aimee discussed planning the itinerary for the upcoming events in Indianapolis, IN, put on in conjunction with the Indiana Branch of the International Dyslexia Association, to speak about the dyslexia movement and promote the film to schools in the area. Check out information on this event at Harvey’s Facebook page.

As a part of my marketing responsibilities, I will be tracking the web-traffic from our blogs and Facebook pages to monitor our social networking ROI, so to speak. Paul and I will be working in conjunction to promote the hell out of all progress on this film. Please help us by promoting this blog and Dislecksia to your friends, family, teacher, superintendent, etc.

Change happens one hand at a time. All you need is your index finger to click. Kirk out.

Equinox

(Editor's Note: So busy celebrating the Equinox that we forgot to post this blog yesterday. Enjoy your belated reading!)

Only my second day here and I’m already sitting in on a marketing meeting, a very successful one at that. And today is the Equinox (equal parts night and day—sounds like a cooking recipe didn’t it?), the Day of Harvest if you will; could the day get any better? Harvey considered Equinox Day and this meeting as the “celebration of getting **** done.” After hours of collaborating and conversing through a phone (with such horrible static that you thought there were fifty people having a conversation, instead of five, regarding how we are going to finish financing “Dislecksia: The Movie,” I would have to agree with Harvey, there is definitely reason for celebrating. Everything has been planned accordingly, it’s all just a matter of doing from here on out.

In two weeks, Harvey and superhero side-kick, Aimee Santos, will be venturing out to Indiana and Maryland to visit IDA (International Dyslexic Association) branches to speak to schools in the area about the stigma of dyslexia. Harvey will also be speaking at public events to spread awareness by sharing his own life experiences as someone with dyslexia. You can find out more information on these events on “Dislecksia: the Movie”’s Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php?gid=12495081044&ref=ts). After Indiana and Maryland, it’s on to the mother ship, the IDA Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

While all of that is going on, the other infamous duo, Sir Fundraiser and Mr. Marketing (otherwise known as “The New Guys”), will be reaching out to fans and dyslexic support groups to help bring “Dislecksia: The Movie” to the masses. We will also be updating Harvey’s “Dislecksia: The MOVEMENT” journey across the country by continuing to blog, as well as add pictures and videos to Harvey’s facebook page, to track his progress on spreading awareness.

The movement is just beginning.

Paul Blood AKA Newer Guy
Production Assistant Intern

Call me the New Guy. Or as the other production intern calls me, the “newer guy.” After graduating from the University of Connecticut, I was excited to be able to start getting my hands dirty in the film business. The only question was, “where can I find a place, in Connecticut nonetheless, to start getting some hands-on experience in film production?” Fortunately, I was lucky enough to discover Captured Time Productions. I sent in my resume and a cover letter and was asked to come in.

As “New Guy 1” mentioned, Harvey is a straight shooter. When I came in for my interview, Harvey walked into the room with purpose, with his glasses on top of his head, sat down in a chair, and threw his feet up on the table. He nodded his head forward to allow his glasses to slip down into position and BAM! “Why are you here?” The interview had started.

Here I am, the new production intern at Captured Time Productions. This is my first day here and I’m already starting to soak in the ambiance that is film production. I got to sit in on a rough edit of the film that Harvey and his elves are currently working on, titled, “Dislecksia: The Movie” (Yes, Dislecksia is spelled incorrectly, that’s the point!). This film consists of interviews from dyslexia advocates, educators, and even celebrities, such as Billy Bob Thornton (Actor/Screenwriter-Sling Blade) and Joe Pantoliano (Actor-Memento) that provide insight into how people with dyslexia are motivated to not only work as hard, but even harder than people without.

Harvey’s no B.S. interviewing style closely mimics his directing style. He conceptualizes and visualizes constantly, spitting out thoughts and ideas at a rate that astounds me. He truly is a man on a mission with “Dislecksia: The Movie.” I have witnessed Harvey's passion to not only change the way dyslexics are educated today, but to also create a better learning environment for future students with dyslexia and the educators who teach them.

Not only is “Dislecksia: The Movie” a film, it is a movement. It is a movement that is taking off quickly. Just today at the office, we have been talking European and marketing strategy with foreign contacts. Harvey doesn’t have his mind simply set on changing the education system in the States, but instead, world domination. I am glad to be a part of this team and look forward to my future here at Captured Time.

Paul Blood AKA Newer Guy
Production Assistant Intern

<meta equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; Some weeks ago—never mind how long precisely, I decided that I would apply for an internship position at Captured Time Productions. I read about Harvey Hubbell V and his film “Dislecksia: The Movie.” I was interested. I applied. I came in for an interview with his coordinator, Aimee. I did not meet Harvey then. Rather, we chatted on the phone during my interview. Harvey was quick on the trigger with his questions: “Where do you see yourself in 5 years? How will you get there? What’s that special question that you have for me? Give me three ways you will market our new film—ready go.” Indeed, he was a gun slinger. Harvey made me think—and my interest had peaked.

I finally met Harvey in the afternoon of the first day at Captured Time. Until then, I felt like he was a mythical being that existed only in folklore. He poured his coffee, walked in, and said, “Hey new guy, I’m Harvey.” And so I was dubbed: New Guy. MISTER New Guy on good days. Capital letters of course, since that is my official name at the office. I believe it’s growing on me.

It is my second day here at Captured Time. After watching the rough cut of the film, I have gained a new insight into the experiences of a dyslexic—how they are different, and how their learning differences have fueled their greatest strengths. The film is comical yet it uncovers the disparities that dyslexics face in the education system. I was wowed.

After viewing the movie, I sat and watched curiously as Harvey edited a section of “Dislecksia: The Movie.” As I watch, I wonder, who is this man? What makes him tick? Why is he drinking from multiple water bottles? I watch him pace back and forth in front of me, pressing his forehead to the adjacent wall as he narrates to himself the voiceover for a clip featuring Billy Bob Thornton as it plays in the background. The man is on a mission with this film. My interest has peaked again.

I am excited to be here. Our goals for the next few months will center on securing funding to finish the remainder of the film. As a new production intern, I will be writing periodically about our progress on the film. I’m looking forward to working with the Captured Time team in the next couple of months and bringing this insightful work to the masses. It surely packs a punch.

Nick Forte AKA “New Guy”

Production Assistant Intern

Start of the Holidays at Captured Time Prod.

After a four-day weekend filled with food, family and extreme store discounts the holiday season has begun. The Captured Time crew is already in holiday spirit due to the growth of “Dislecksia: The Movement” this past weekend.

As “Dislecksia: The Movie” nears completion, “Dislecksia: The Movement” is continuing to grow. We exceeded our goal of having 2,500 members in our “Dislecksia: The Movie” Facebook group by Thanksgiving with a grand total of 2,578 members! We hope that this opportunity will open the door to cross promotion and advertising opportunities for companies with products and learning tools for dyslexics. We can also put together a unique package to fit your specific needs. After a week of working at the Captured Time Productions office, I had still only seen the movie in bits and pieces and was eager to see the film as a whole. For what exactly was I giving so many hours of my time away? The film certainly reaffirmed my belief that Harvey and Captured Time Productions were working towards completing an important and much-needed project.

The backbone of the documentary is Harvey’s personal journey to understand his own dyslexia and how it has shaped his life and career. Along the way, he introduces us to a gamut of characters, each of whom has a compelling story and perspective on dyslexia to share. These dyslexics, family members of dyslexics, doctors, researchers, and educational advocates are treated with respect and, in return, provide valuable anecdotal, emotional and intellectual insight into dyslexia. I laughed, cried, and learned about dyslexia in a comprehensive way. Indeed, the film manages to be informative while demonstrating genuine care and regard for the people involved.

One of the most moving moments concerned a young woman named Jovan who was graduating from a high school that serves students with reading differences. Before changing to this innovative school, Jovan had struggled. Administrators and teachers ignorant to the challenges and potential in educating dyslexics simply deemed her “stupid.” Jovan spoke of the unwavering support she had received from her mother during those hard times. Her mother had been her friend, advocate and cheerleader, and her joy at Jovan’s graduation was palpable. I was moved to tears by this story of struggle and success.

I sincerely hope that this film is made available to as large an audience as possible in order to enact the most change towards a better American educational system. With your help, this is possible. Please visit our website, www.capturedtimeproductions.com, for more information on donating or you can contact Captured Time Productions at captime@optonline.net if you have other ideas as to how you can help!

Joanna C.
Production Intern

First Day on the Lake for a New Intern!

Today was my first day as an intern with Captured Time Productions. It's an important project that sheds light on many of the complex issues facing the educational system in this country, especially with regards to learning differences like dyslexia. The past week or so has been extremely busy as we look through all the film segments to diagnose and fix our final problems.

We've also been bringing in the final companies and people who will be working with us to bring the project to completion. Enjoy reading about his successes, and be sure to send us your own stories as well, to captime@optonline.net!

My name is James Bauer and I am a person with dyslexia. I recently wrote the book "The Runaway Learning Machine", my personal story concerning undiagnosed dyslexia, for possible production. My book has been written into a play and debuted in the Minneapolis area in 2005. It made its London debut, by a small theater group, in June of this year.

I've included the bio about myself that goes along with my writings.

When James Bauer graduated from high school in 1969 he was reading, writing and spelling at less than a third grade level. He secretly thought that he was retarded and had fooled everyone for the 12 years that he was in the school system. He was told by his high school counselor that he could not attend college because of his grades but could be accepted into a vocational school. James' greatest wish was to attend college but without the approval of his high school counselor vocational school was his only choice. Following his graduation from vocational school, and still reading, writing and spelling at less than a third grade level, James was diagnosed as severely dyslexic by his future tutor C. Wilson Anderson.

James spent five years in tutoring with C. Wilson Anderson which brought him from less than a third grade level, a non-reader, to college level.

Today James Bauer is an Occupational Therapist practicing in Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota. He holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree and is the author of three books "The Runaway Learning Machine", "Too Much Time on Sycamore Street" and "Do You Know How to Pick Berries".

"The Runaway Learning Machine", is James' personal account of growing up with a severe undiagnosed learning disability. In April of 2005 "The Runaway Learning Machine" debuted as a play at the "Lyric Arts/MainStreet Stage" in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. On June 2nd 2008 "The Runaway Learning Machine" made its London debut through Misfit Productions.

"Too Much Time on Sycamore Street", is a self-help book written from one learning disabled person to another.

"Do You Know How to Pick Berries" is based upon a true story taking place in 1967 between a high school dyslexic student and a young man with Down's Syndrome. Two separate lives which walked a similar path for short period of time in 1967.

James has spoken throughout the Midwest on the topic of dyslexia and has facilitated weekend retreats and support groups for those with dyslexia. In the year 2002 James had the privilege of addressing the International Dyslexia Associations of Canada and Brazil. In 2004 James was invited to address The British Dyslexia Association, in Warwick England. Most recently James was invited to address the All European Dyslexia Association, Luxembourg Nov. 2007. Two of James' books have been translated into Portuguese and are selling in Brazil.

James' tutor C. Wilson Anderson advanced to the Presidency of The International Dyslexia Association.

Spreading the Word!

This week was a banner week for us here at Captured Time in terms of reaching people to spread the word about dyslexia and "Dislecksia". We've got the largest dyslexia-oriented group on Facebook, with over 2000 members, and have also managed to get more than 500 followers on Twitter. This is great news for us and all dyslexics, allowing us to connect much more easily.

Other people have also started to spread the word themselves, with a few posts going up on other blogs about "Dislecksia: The Movie". Check them out at the Dyslexia Blog and at the Ghotit Blog. And thanks to the writers of those blogs for their interest and time. We always love to hear that other people are excited about the film!

Also, don't forget to join our mailing list in order to keep updated on the progress of the film and upcoming dyslexic events. As our trailer for the film shows, public opinion definitely needs a lot of work. Many people don't even know what dyslexia is, guessing everything from an eating disorder to when you've had too much to drink, and those that do know what it is rarely know how it affects people or what causes it.

This lack of understanding often leads to embarrassing situations, like the one sports commentator Wayne Grady recently had to apologize for. Grady, a former golf champion, was censured by the BBC after making the joke, "That's what DNA stands for - National Dyslexic Association," during a discussion of golfer JB Holmes' dyslexia. Holmes struggled with the difference throughout school, almost losing his golf scholarship due to poor grades before his dyslexia was diagnosed.

As pioneers of the comic documentary, we definitely appreciate a sense of humor and jokes. In fact, we and Harvey make them about his dyslexia on a regular basis. The problem is that many people lack any true knowledge or understanding of dyslexia, aside from what they hear in their jokes. Hopefully the release of "Dislecksia: The Movie" will help change that, and we're working hard to finish it soon. If you're looking forward to its release and want an update when it comes out, join our mailing list here and invite all your friends to help spread the word. She managed to succeed and even went on to found Dyslexia Testing and Information Service, LLC and write a children's book with her daughter about dyslexia. Here's her story for you. Please send in your own experiences as well, to captime@optonline.net. We look forward to hearing from you all!

My name is Shelley. I am the parent of a dyslexic child. My husband is dyslexic. My father and my grandfather are both dyslexic. When my daughter, Delaney, began to struggle in Kindergarten, I was told to practice more, read to her, she is so cute, so smart, she will outgrow her reading problems.

I am an English teacher, and I taught in a private school for children with learning disabilities- many of them were dyslexic. I knew that waiting for Delaney to outgrow her problem and forcing her to practice more was not the answer. However, it took me a year to find someone to evaluate Delaney. Every one said that she too young. She was 6.

I got proactive. I did not wait any longer. I knew that early intervention was key to her becoming successful in school. I went to CA, from OH, to take a graduate course in diagnosing dyslexia. In the meantime, I enrolled Delaney in Orton-Gillingham tutoring and a private school that recognizes and accommodates dyslexia. She is thriving!

After taking the graduate course, I started my company Dyslexia Testing & Information Services, LLC. I provide diagnostic testing and Orton-Gillingham based tutoring. I speak publicly to schools and professional groups about dyslexia, and Delaney and I have written a children's book entitled, I Have Dyslexia. What Does That Mean? (*available very soon at Amazon.com). My mission is to raise awareness for this hidden disability. I do not want another child to be told they just need to work harder or practice more, and I don't want another parent to feel the guilt and frustration that I felt when trying to get my daughter diagnosed.

Testimonial Piece from Philly

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v5.nonxt3.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3Da50f8db58a05621d%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1330272675%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3DF9D355E742BBAB00A4D9C72E99EB03BE5D65FA6.93612D8ED713FBFF33FA1C63EA1496627C27C8C%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3Da50f8db58a05621d%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3Dm52wQZEEPc-NQgzhVMGidBkhiWA&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Check out these testimonials from people who viewed our rough cut screening in Philly! New Theories from British Researchers

In any investigation of dyslexia, it becomes clear that a number of theories exist about what causes the difference, with new ideas arising all the time. "Dislecksia: The Movie" explores many of these theories and interviews the scientists that come up with them, such as the researchers at Yale's Haskins Laboratories and Georgetown University's Center for the Study of Learning. But the film could not possibly cover every theory that is out there, especially with research going on around the world.

As recently as the end of June, Scottish researchers released new reports linking trouble reading to differences in certain sections of the brain, including the cerebellum and two segments of the right brain hemisphere. This research is significant in that it may allow scientists to determine different degrees or "subtypes" of dyslexia. For example, "The cerebellum is known to set rules for movement and coordination within the body and scientists believe it may also perform this function for language."

A greater understanding of the root causes of dyslexia and the ability to diagnose different types will be enormously beneficial in reforming education, the end goal of "Dislecksia: The Movie". By being able to recognize what specific problems each person has, it will be easier to structure their education in a personally beneficial way.

This will add to the UK's recent commitment to improve educational opportunities for dyslexic students, a campaign to which they have pledged £10 million. The government initiative aims to teach educators about the symptoms of dyslexia so that more cases are recognized, as well as to train them in better literacy initiatives in order to improve the overall methods of teaching reading. While many teachers and advocates believe that truly helping dyslexics will require more training than the initial program is providing for, it is a positive step. Children's Secretary Ed Balls summed up the opinion of the government, saying, ""We are going to say loud and clear today... that dyslexia exists, it is a condition where there should be help for every child in every school."

We agree!
-Amanda Cote
Assistant Production Office Coordinator

Original Articles

Dyslexia Linked to Muscle Control

Dyslexia Linked to Brain Differences

Teacher Training to Spot Dyslexia

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://captime.blogspot.com/2009/07/what-causes-dyslexia-new-theories-from.html' title='What Causes Dyslexia? DeStefano Case in New Haven

There is no denying that the major focus of the Ricci vs. DeStefano case has been on race and affirmative action, particularly with Judge Sonia Sotomayor, President Obama's nominee for the Supreme Court, as one of the justices ruling on the original appeals court. However, it is also a case concerning dyslexia and the struggles dyslexics go through in order to be successful.

The facts of the case are these: in 2003, New Haven instituted an exam for its firefighters to take in order to be promoted to the ranks of lieutenant or captain. Upon completion of the exam, the results were discarded by the city, due to the lack of racial diversity among the top candidates, who were almost exclusively white. These candidates initiated a reverse discrimination lawsuit, claiming that they were being barred from promotions they deserved due to their race.

The case and its resulting appeals has inflamed the media, particularly due to Ms. Sotomayor's role in the appeal, but its interest for us lies in the lead plaintiff, Firefighter Frank Ricci, who is dyslexic. Ricci, who contends that his fellow plaintiffs scored higher on the tests not because of race, but because of the work and study they put into preparing, has said that he studied for hours each day in preparation for the exam. He has also gone on the record saying that he paid someone to record the study materials to tape for him, so he could learn by listening. He ended up with the sixth highest score on the test, an impressive accomplishment by any means.

In the midst of all the negative attention the case has received, the commitment Ricci displayed and the work he put into preparing for a test that was likely much harder for a dyslexic than a non-dyslexic is impressive and deserves to be recognized as the achievement it is. For more information on the case and on Frank Ricci, you can find articles at the following links

Frank Ricci becomes an extraordinary champion for those with dyslexia

Frank Ricci- Champion for Those With Dyslexia

Court sides with firefighters in Ricci case

A Sotomayor Ruling Gets Scrutiny

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://captime.blogspot.com/2009/07/dyslexia-part-of-ricci-v-destefano-case.html' title='Dyslexia Part of Ricci v. We also require funds in order to generate effective and widespread publicity and to secure a strong distribution deal for the finished film.

So please, if you can, take a moment to visit this site and donate whatever you can spare to help finish "Dislecksia" and help the cause. Every little bit will help, and will be appreciated more than you know.

Thanks in advance for your help!

-Amanda Cote
Assistant Production Office Coordinator

Jets' Coach Rex Ryan Diagnosed With Dyslexia In Early Forties

Although New York Jets' coach Rex Ryan struggled with reading and writing throughout his school career, it was only a few years ago that he was diagnosed as dyslexic, according to a recent article from the Associated Press. While his oldest son was being tested for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), the doctors also tested Ryan, who says that a test that took him "maybe fifteen minutes to read" took his youngest son, "who was maybe 10 or 12 at that time" only one.

In the article, Ryan describes the struggles he went through in school and how he often skipped classes in order to avoid being embarrassed, a technique employed by many dyslexics. Sports, rather than academics, became the reason he attended class. And while he did eventually earn a master's degree in physical education, reading and written work are still a challenge, one that Ryan often overcomes by having material read to him.

At the same time, he recognizes his dyslexia as something that has been beneficial for him. Jim Leonhard, the Jets safety and one of Ryan's players, describes him as a fighter and attributes this characteristic to his successful struggle to overcome dyslexia. Ryan also appears to approach coaching in a very visual way, supporting recent research that dyslexics have stronger visual processing capabilities than non-dyslexics. For example, his plays are all color-coded, rather than numbered, a system that Ryan finds easier to comprehend.

Ryan's story, of struggling through school and only being diagnosed with dyslexia later in life, is similar to many of those presented in "Dislecksia: The Movie". And like many of them, his difference has ended up being beneficial to him, helping him develop characteristics that have been essential to his success. In his own words, "For the weaknesses I have with spelling and all those other things with being dyslexic, I have a lot of other strengths also. I want people to know that you can have dyslexia and still reach your goals."

Office Overview

Since the whole crew was back at base this week, we're up to top speed and working on a bunch of different projects. After our success as a rough cut in Philly, the main goal here in the office is to finish the full version of the film. In order to do so, we've split it into 30 short chapters and set a goal of watching five of these per day. Rachel and Bryan, our resident Avid Kids, set the film up and play through it. Harvey points out every problem that he sees and Aimee S. and I speed to write them all down. Once our notes are done, they're posted up in the office next to a photo of the chapter they go with and we start calling in the cavalry to make the changes.

And it really is calling. Our producer/editor Eric Gardner is in Los Angeles, our computer graphics guy works in another part of CT and our composer, Michael Bacon, is in New York (at least most of the time). In order to finish the film, we're going to have to bring all of these people together to make changes as drastic as removing or adding sections of the film, or as specific as editing music so that the beat fits the image better.

In the meantime, we also have to keep working on publicizing the film and finding a venue for our premiere! We've applied to the Toronto Film Festival and Sammo, our film fest guy, is also working on applications to Telluride and AFI. Hopefully we'll have success with one of them! The rest of us are working on the Internet to build up our contact network and try to reach as many people as possible, because dyslexia affects so many. James, our newest addition here at the farm, is currently working to update our contacts maps, giant posters of the USA and the world we have marked with pins to show where our supporters are based. Although necessary and very useful, it's also a tough and somewhat tedious project, so we're especially glad he came on board to help! Abby, our writing girl, has been sending out thank you notes to people who helped us out at Philly and to everyone who has donated to the film so far (Thank you again, so much!). And Johnny B has been updating the website and setting up a new Facebook group for dyslexic entrepreneurs (who apparently make up about 35% of the world's entrepreneurs)!

This is by no means an exhaustive list of what's been going on, but it does give you some insight into the work it takes to finish a film at this stage. The next month or two look like they're going to be really busy, but we're excited to be so close to the end of the film! We're still in need of some finishing funds, but with any luck and some more hard work, hopefully we'll be able to pull those in.

-Amanda Cote
Assistant Production Office Coordinator

Back at the Farm.

The Captured Time crew has arrived back at the farm. The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival rough cut screening was a success. A full house turned up and left only standing room in the panel discussion, despite the uncomfortable heat. Harvey and the crew would like to thank everyone who organized and assisted us in Philadelphia. The panel, moderated by Harvey, had seven experts, including an attorney, psychologist, teacher and of course several dyslexics. The panel provided the audience with useful information. The event turned out to be a great gathering of advocates that demonstrated not only interest but promised to take action and fight for their cause. Philadelphia was welcoming, and everyone on the ground for Captured Time worked hard and had a great experience. Thanks again to everyone who came and supported "Dislecksia: The Movie." Now that we are back, everyone is working even harder to try and get the film finished soon. If you are on facebook, be sure to join our group to stay updated about upcoming events and news.

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=12495081044&ref=ts

Abby B.
Production Intern

Friday in Philly.

The Philadelphia Independent Film Festival has officially begun. The captured time crew has been busy here in Philly promoting ourselves, meeting people and getting everything set-up for the rough cut screening of "Dislecksia: The Movie," tomorrow evening. Harvey, Aimee and Andrew spent the afternoon at the film market meeting fellow filmmakers and festival staff. Sam and I spent the afternoon postering the town to let everyone know about our rough cut screening. Also, we met with advocates who are extremely willing to offer their support.
Last night the production interns attended the opening night festivities at the North Bowl. The North Bowl was a great way to start off the festival. There we meet some very helpful and informative festival staff, and interesting filmmakers participating in the festival.

So far, our time in Philadelphia has been extremely positive.

Abby B.

Production Intern

PIFF and Our New Blog!

Today is quite the busy day at the office!
